Joe DeCaro

Board Member

Joe is retired from the Red Hook school district, where he served as the Director of Pupil Personnel Services since 2004. He has spent a career working with administrators, teachers, para-professionals, and parents in addressing the needs of students.

Joe is the father of two adult daughters, Marianna and Daniella. His wife Maria-Salome, recently retired from the Kingston school district, where she held the position of Spanish teacher.

Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and special education from Southampton College of L.I.U., a Master’s in Counseling and Therapy from N.Y.U., and a second Master’s in Educational Administration from SUNY New Paltz.

Joe joined the Board of Spectrum Services to continue his life’s work in creating the richest educational experience for students with special needs, and all professional and para-professional staff who serve them. He has a long history in collaborating with public and private schools, community based organizations, and the New York State Education Department. He hopes to be an asset for Spectrum Services.
