Integration

Center for Spectrum Services is committed to preparing children whenever possible to return to a less restrictive educational environment.

As a student shows improved ability to function successfully in a center-based placement, an individually designed integration program can provide experiences with more typical children or in a less restrictive educational setting. Consultant teacher services and training are provided to students’ school districts to support their efforts to meet the student's special needs. Mainstreaming may be arranged in academic areas, special subject instruction, recess and lunch. Each student’s progress is carefully monitored to ensure a successful experience and to determine when they are ready to to move to a less restrictive program.
