Shelly M. Beck

Chief Financial Officer

Shelly brings over 20 years of nonprofit, in-house accounting and management experience. Shelly’s professional experience includes overseeing accounting, human resources, and IT departments for a number of human services-based organizations. Further, Shelly’s vast experience dealing with an assortment of NYS agencies (OPWDD, DOH, DOL, and HCR), make for smooth transitioning in dealing with the NYS Department of Education.

In 2017, Shelly joined the Spectrum Services management team as Controller, overseeing the $9.5 million budget, handling all aspects of organizational finances, and supervising the accounting department staff. In 2021 Shelly became our Chief Financial Officer, and continues to implemented many policies and procedures that have strengthened the internal controls of Spectrum Services.

Shelly received her B.S. degree from Bentley College, and her Associate in Science in Business Administration, Cum Laude, from Sage Junior College of Albany. Shelly brings strong leadership skills and a creative spirit to the accounting department.

Her enthusiasm and positive outlook have energized the accounting team, and Shelly continues to work on streamlining accounting practices and procedures, providing necessary financial information for Spectrum Services in a timely manner. Shelly is motivated by the knowledge that to best serve our students with autism, Spectrum Services must be fiscally sound and financially secure.
