Special Education Department Head
Start date Mid-August
Center for Spectrum Services is seeking a full-time, 12-month Education Program Department Head for our Kingston location.
Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to:
- Provide supervision and training to department members (special educators, teaching assistants, substitute aides)
- Oversee the development and use of appropriate class/department curriculum structure, strategies and materials.
- Oversee and maintain education department paperwork, including quarterlies and annual reviews.
- Schedule and facilitate team meetings.
- Oversee and participate in classroom/department scheduling.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrates good general intelligence, diplomacy, flexibility and collaboration skills. Establishes and maintains constructive relationships with students, co-workers, families, and community. Maintains a neat physical appearance. Communicates effectively. Functions as a positive role model. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
The ideal candidate must have working knowledge of NYSED special education regulatory requirements, policies and procedures. Ability to supervise and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary team and interface productively with school districts, counties and community stake-holders on behalf of preschool and school aged students and their families.

Assistant Behavioral Specialist

Center for Spectrum Services is seeking a full-time Assistant Behavioral Specialist for our school located in Kingston, NY.
Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the implementation of positive behavioral interventions, supports and services.
- Assist in behavior management training for staff.
- Monitor use of appropriate physical intervention techniques on an ongoing basis
- Complete crisis/physical intervention paperwork
- Enter crisis statistics into database as needed
- Proficient in Microsoft word and excel.

Speech-Language Pathologists/Therapists

Center for Spectrum Services is seeking two, full time Speech Language Pathologists/Therapists, one to join our team in Ellenville, and one for our team in Kingston, NY beginning September 5, 2022.
You’ll greatly enjoy working with our team of professionals. This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a warm, supportive setting that focuses on educating students with autism in accordance with their IEP’s.
The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with students, coworkers, families and school district personnel. We provide quality training, a supportive school setting.
