Ellen possesses over forty years of various business management responsibilities, including having served as accounting manager at Barnes & Noble, amongst others. Ellen joined Spectrum Services in 1984, and has served some very key positions at the school.
Ellen saw our business and accounting offices through a remarkable period of growth and expansion during the 80s and 90s, and solidly worked with administrative leadership to secure a solid financial footing as the school’s Controller. In the early 2000s, at a time of major staffing increases to keep up with the rising need of special educators for our students, Ellen accepted the position of Human Resources Coordinator.
Today, Ellen oversees all aspects of our busy HR department and policies, including hiring and recruitment, complicated insurance matters, overseeing our outsourced HR contractor, time and accounting input, state and federal regulation adherence, and more. She continues to work to bring the best benefit package to our staff each year, and helps manage the safest work environment possible for each and every one of them.
Ellen earned her Associates in accounting, and subsequent BS in Business Administration at Empire State College. In terms of our Admin Team, Ellen is one of the very few who has been here the longest, and who maintains a lot of the organizational history, and it is that wisdom and knowledge that is called upon often, and always trusted.
