Will bathroom surfaces be cleaned thoroughly after each individual use?
Yes. Our staff will be making sure all surfaces are disinfected after each student.
If my child’s classroom needs to be vacated for 24 hours and then cleaned, but my child is due to come in the next day, will an alternate space be available or will kids stay home?
We will follow guidance from UC Health department in making decisions. The answer to this will depend on the reason why the classroom needs to be vacated. If it is due to a positive COVID-19 test, the Ulster County Health department may advise us that students & staff in that classroom need to be quarantined and thus the child would stay home. If the children & staff do not need to be quarantined, we will do our best to locate an alternative space for the students so they can attend school.

What other changes are being made to help make the school environment safe?
Some additional changes are daily temperature taking for staff and students, daily health screening questionnaire for staff, weekly health screening questionnaire for families, physical distancing by reducing class size, the use of Personal Protective Equipment, hand washing protocols, reducing the sharing or materials, deep cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces and materials, increasing ventilation in the building, eliminating unnecessary visitors to the school, and closely following the NY State Department of Health recommendations.

Will there be a deep clean between A Group and B Group classroom usage?
Yes. This will take place on Wednesday evenings after A Group, and on Friday evenings after B Group.
Can I drop off disinfectant wipes? I have extra.
YES, please do! If you see Clorox or Lysol disinfectant wipes at the store and would like to purchase them to donate, we would be so very grateful. It’s something of which we don’t have enough.
