In this workshop, participants will learn a variety of strategies to create environments for increased cooperative and appropriate behavior. We’ll discuss examples of how challenging behaviors are learned and maintained. As a group, we’ll discuss how differential reinforcement (DR) is a logical protocol and how to apply DR as a “way of life” in the classroom, home or therapy rooms. Complete explanations will be provided so that participates will feel confident with the information and implementation.

Participants will:
• Identify at least one factor that influences challenging behaviors.
• Be able to explain differential reinforcement.
• Be able to describe the importance of making DR a “way of life”.
