Parent Workshop: Positive Replacement Behavior – Evening In Person/Remote

Teaching Positive Replacement Behavior
Tues. 2/22 From 6:30 – 8:00 In Person in Kingston and also remote
At our last workshop, we discussed understanding behavior and positive behavioral supports. This means that just responding to a difficult behavior is not enough and will never lead to eliminating the problem behavior completely. Instead, we need to focus on prevention, understanding the function, choosing a positive replacement behavior, and to proactively teach and reinforce this new behavior. In other words, what do we want the child to do instead of acting out? This workshop will go into greater depth as to how to teach this new replacement behavior in the home and community. Some of these teaching programs will be teaching children to make transitions, waiting, accepting no, making choices, being gentle, and many others.
