|Ruby Rose Recipient 2016: Michele Dingman-Lindo|
Center for Spectrum Services is delighted to announce Michele Dingman-Lindo as this year’s winner of the Ruby Rose Award of Excellence. The award is peer-driven, and each year well over a dozen nominations are submitted and the award selection committee must then decide the final award winner.
“Michele is a very dedicated staff member,” notes her supervisor, MaryAlice Millham. “Michele goes above and beyond for students and co-workers on a daily basis!”
Michele began at Center for Spectrum Services in 2001. She was hired as a Teacher Aide and within a few short years became an Assistant Teacher. Her fellow educators are quick to point out Michele’s natural talent for working with children with special needs demonstrating patience, understanding, and knowledge to effect monumental progress in her students. “Michele is the epitome of compassion, love, and devotion,” says her friend and colleague, Cheryl Engel, Spectrum Service’s Clinical Department Head. “Michele is adored by all she comes in contact with, including co-workers, parents and most importantly, our students!”
On any given day, Michele can be found at work with a smile on her face, a calm demeanor, and humble disposition – oftentimes working with some of our most challenging students. Michelle also contributes to the autism community by providing respite to families of children on the autism spectrum and representing Spectrum Services at the annual Hudson Valley Autism Walk in Rhinebeck.
“I’m so very honored to be this year’s recipient of the Ruby Rose Award,” says Dingman-Lindo, “and knowing that my fellow educators here at Spectrum Services nominated me, and then awarded me this wonderful accolade, I’m very humbled.”
“We are very lucky to have Michele at Center for Spectrum Services, and are thrilled to be able to honor her with this year’s Ruby Rose Award” said Center for Spectrum Services Program Director Jamey Wolff.
Established in 2005 by Spectrum Services parents Bernardo and Barbara Mongil, The Ruby Rose Award provides a way for our staff to recognize their coworkers for outstanding job performance. Named for the Mongils’ daughter, who was one of our students, the Ruby Rose Award represents the standards of outstanding job performance valued by our agency. In addition to recognition by faculty and on a plaque at the school, winners also receive a monetary gift.
