The Center for Spectrum Services is committed to preparing children whenever possible to return to a less restrictive educational environment. As a child shows improved ability to function successfully in a center-based placement, an individually designed integration program can provide experiences with more typical children or in a less restrictive educational setting. Consultant teacher services and training programs are provided to students’ school districts to support their efforts to meet special needs. Mainstreaming may be arranged in academic areas, special subject instruction, recess and lunch. Each child’s progress is carefully monitored to ensure a successful experience and to determine when the child is ready to leave our school programs and be placed full-time in a less restrictive class setting. |
