Family Involvement

Close family involvement is important to Center for Spectrum Services’ philosophy and the success of our students. Parents and guardians are considered partners in the development of their child’s educational plan. Goals for family involvement include enhancing family strengths, increasing family support networks,  and developing their children’s community-based skills and abilities. Our innovative family centered services are extensive and can be individualized for different caregiving situations. A family service coordinator is assigned to each class and serves as the home-to-school liaison. Family services may include:

  • Regular written communication
  • Frequently scheduled telephone contacts
  • Transdisciplinary conferences
  • Parent workshops
  • Parent support and discussion groups
  • Community referrals
  • Medical management
  • Classroom visits
  • Home-based behavioral and learning programs
  • Sibling groups
