Summer Autism Training Institute

This 4-part workshop series is designed to provide teachers, clinicians, and other educational professionals with an understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Verbal Behavior (VB), visual supports and language development strategies. We will discuss and demonstrate the application of key behavioral principles such as motivation, stimulus control, reinforcement and how they play out into increasing positive behaviors.

Professionals: Earn 12 CTLE Hours with this Valuable Training:
Hands-on activities and video examples will add to the discussion and give participants specific strategies to incorporate into the classroom, therapy session or home.

Locations and Course Focus:
In Ellenville the series will focus on younger students (2-8 years).
In Kingston the focus will be on older individuals (9+ years).

Summer Autism Training Institute Presenters
Sandra Brownsey, MS, CAS, is a Certified Special Education Teacher and School Administrator. She has been working with individuals with Autism and other developmental needs and their families for the past 25 years. Her experiences include: Early Intervention and preschool teacher, evaluator, family trainer, public school teacher and school district consultant. Sandra presents workshops and trainings throughout the Hudson Valley on autism, improving challenging behaviors, increasing language, classroom management and  understanding the importance of play skills.  She is currently serving in the role of Program Coordinator at the Center for Spectrum Services in Ellenville. Sandra works closely with her staff and families to ensure a positive collaboration that results in the highest quality of service to the students.

Tiffany Francese-Sears MA, LMHC has over 13 years of experience working with individuals with autism and other developmental needs. She also has over 15 years’ experience as an adjunct professor at Dutchess Community College and Marist College specializing in therapeutic interventions. She is now employed at Center for Spectrum Services as a Behavior Intervention Specialist. With over a decade of experience as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Tiffany provides caregivers and professionals with the appropriate information necessary to help individuals with autism live a more productive life. Currently, she is completing her BCBA as well as her Ph.D. in clinical psychology.
